After a taste of Namibia, travel north to witness the breath-taking plunge of the Victoria Falls and cruise on the mighty Zambezi River. See herds of elephant coming to the river to play, drink and socialise at Chobe River before flying in to the magnificent Okavango Delta - one of the world's most renowned natural wonders.

• Sundowners on the dunes of Namib National Park After a day of exploring the Sossusvlei sands by fourwheel drive, we'll enjoy sundowners under the incredible Namibian night sky.
• Enjoy Cape Town's exquisite 'Gold' restaurant Visit this wonderful traditional restaurant to enjoy an interactive Djembe drumming session. We'll also have a 14 course set menu with cuisine from the Cape Malay kitchen, complete with some well-loved traditional African inspired dishes.
• Cruise along the Chobe River Soak up the spectacular scenery of this iconic African river that is home to an abundance of wildlife. We will try to spot hippos, crocodiles, and elephants.
Day 1: Auckland > Perth Meet your host and fellow travellers and fly to Perth.
Day 2: Perth > Johannesburg (B) Spend today at leisure before our overnight flight to Johannesburg.
Day 3: Johannesburg > Cape Town (D) Morning arrival in Cape Town with the rest of today to explore the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront with your host. This original Victorian harbour is packed full of restaurants, shops and monuments.
Day 4: Cape Town (B,L) Begin our full day tour of Cape Town at iconic Table Mountain or, if the weather is not favourable, at the flat-topped mound known as Signal Hill. Browse vibrant Greenmarket Square, one of the city's oldest markets, and take a walk through Company's Garden, established by Dutch settlers in 1652. Drive past the Houses of Parliament and the historical Castle of Good Hope, as well as the Slave Lodge, which used to house thousands of slaves belonging to the Dutch East India Company. Next visit is the traditional Malay Quarter, with its brightly coloured houses dating back as far as the 17th century. Pause to listen to the firing of the noonday gun from Signal Hill. After time to relax for lunch, enjoy an afternoon excursion to Robben Island. Local guides are former political prisoners and provide a rich dialogue of human spirit over adversity.
Day 5: Cape Town (B,L,D) Our tour today takes in the scenic highlights of the Cape Peninsula, passing by the four beaches of Clifton and the coastal suburb of Hout Bay - a former fishing village with a long, sandy beach facing a bay framed by the mountains. Continue along the breath-taking Chapman's Peak Drive before heading to the Cape of Good Hope first believed to be the actual place where the two oceans meet, and the Southernmost point of Africa. At Cape Point, ride the funicular to the lighthouse for spectacular elevated views. Enjoy lunch at Simon's Town, famous for its naval military base, and then visit the charming penguin colony at Boulders Beach. Our day ends at the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, set against the eastern slopes of spectacular Table Mountain. Dinner this evening is at Gold Restaurant, famous for its African drumming session!
Day 6: Cape Town > Cape Winelands (B,L) Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the Waterfront, before we depart Cape Town midday. We have a short drive to the Cape Winelands, discovering heritage Cape Dutch wine farms and the charming towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek - meaning "French Corner". We will also enjoy wine tastings and lunch in these stunning surroundings with French and Dutch history dating back to the 1600's. We spend two nights at the gorgeous Leeu House, a hideaway in the village of Franschhoek.
Day 7: Cape Winelands (B) After breakfast, take a walk with your host to the village where you will have tickets on the Franschhoek Wine Tram. Spend as long as you like, hopping on and off the wine tram and bus which takes you from vineyard to vineyard. Don't worry if you don't enjoy wine - some vineyards specialise in cheese, oils, chocolate and other goodies!
Day 8: Cape Winelands > Grootbos Private Nature Reserve (B,L,D) It is a two hour drive through the working farmlands of Villiersdorp and Caledon in the Overberg region to the floral kingdom of Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. The reserve offers the chance to be immersed in the unique fynbos and ancient forest, featuring 791 plant species, 118 bird species, 29 mammals and 21 amphibians. Glorious suites are tucked into the forest, and sumptuous meals are enjoyed with beverages while toasting the sun going down over the ocean beyond. Activities include horse riding, 4x4 nature drives, whale watching, cave exploring, bird watching, quad biking and Great White Shark dives. (NB: some activities are at a supplement cost).
Day 9: Grootbos Private Nature Reserve (B,L,D) Enjoy a full day of your choice of experiences included at Grootbos.
Day 10: Grootbos > Cape Town > Windhoek (B,D) We transfer to Cape Town via the scenic coastal route today for our short flight to Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia. Overnight in Windhoek.
Day 11: Windhoek > Namib Desert (B,L,D) This morning we fly by light aircraft to andBeyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge in the Namib Desert. The luxurious accommodation is only outshone by the picture-perfect vistas outside with stony outcrops, awe-inspiring dunes and endless horizons. From nature drives by 4x4 to picnics in the desert, this is an extraordinary desert wilderness. Wildlife includes the majestic Oryx with its bold black and white facial markings and sweeping horns.
Day 12: Namib Desert (B,L,D) The sand dunes of Sossusvlei are the famous highlight of the Namib and a photographer's dream! We take a drive by 4WD into the dunes, some of which are over 300m high. Visit Sesriem and the Dead Vlei, one of the most photographed spots in Namibia. Optional quad biking. Enjoy sundowners to toast the incredible Namibian night sky.
Day 13: Namib Desert > Windhoek > Victoria Falls (B) Today we return by light aircraft to Windhoek, for our onward flight to Victoria Falls. Spend two nights at the legendary Victoria Falls Hotel. Enjoy a cocktail this evening on Stanley's Terrace, with views of the falls as the sun sets.
Day 14 : Victoria Falls (B) Morning tour of the Falls - known as the "smoke that thunders" - a simply spectacular sight! Enjoy an early evening sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, where you'll have a chance to spot hippos hanging out and crocodiles cruising.
Day 15: Victoria Falls > Chobe National Park (B,L,D) After breakfast we are transferred to Chobe. Spend two nights at our luxury lodge overlooking the Chobe River - home to Africa's highest concentration of elephants.
Day 16: Chobe National Park (B,L,D) Cruise along the Chobe River where we hope for close encounters with the elephants going for a morning drink. Also enjoy safaris in open-sided 4x4 vehicles with expert guides gets you close to hippo, buffalo, puku and other wildlife that gather on the banks of the river.
Day 17: Chobe > Okavango Delta (B,L,D) We transfer the short distance to Kasane Airport for a light aircraft transfer to the Okavango Delta. Experience our first two nights at AndBeyond Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp located in a 25,000 hectare exclusive wildlife concession on the edge of the Okavango Delta, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. Nine exclusive tented suites set on raised wooden platforms are tucked beneath a canopy of ebony trees.
Day 18: Okavango Delta (B,L,D) Game drives are not typical here, as water crossings are part of the adventure. Safaris by vehicle, boat and traditional mekoro (dugout canoe) search out lion, zebra, hyena, hippo, giraffe, leopard, wild dog and much more that make their home in the Delta.
Day 19: Okavango Delta (B,L,D) Light aircraft to our next camp which is located on a seasonal lagoon, AndBeyond Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge. The location provides an exclusive safari experience to explore intricate watery canals, seeing many animals that feed on the grass and reeds on the palm islands such as lechwe, sitatunga, elephant, hippo and crocodile.
Day 20: Okavango Delta (B,L,D) Afternoon drives continue after night, allowing for an opportunity to see the many animals that are more active at night, including leopard and serval. Lion frequently hunt at night and there is always a chance of coming upon them feeding on a kill.
Day 21: Maun > Johannesburg > Perth (B) It will be a fond farewell to Africa today! We have a 20 minute light aircraft transfer to Maun Airport, where we check-in for our homeward flights connecting at Johannesburg and Perth.
Day 22 : Perth > Auckland Transit in Perth before our evening return to Auckland, on an overnight flight.
Day 23: Auckland Early morning arrival.
