Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
Upon arrival you will be met and greeted at the airport. Our representative will assist you with VIP express service to clear all formalities then you will be transferred to hotel. Rest of the day at your leisure.
Accommodation: Two nights at the Sofitel Metropole in a Grand Premium Room. Private Butler Service available.
Day 2: Hanoi (B)
Enjoy a full day tour exploring Hanoi’s illustrious history. In the morning, visit the imposing marble edifice housing the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum (closed on Mondays & Fridays) before moving onto his wooden stilt house and the One Pillar Pagoda. You will then visit the first university of Vietnam, the Temple of Literature, which is imbued with the profound philosophies of Confucianism. In the afternoon, visit the Hoan Kiem Lake and the Ngoc Son Temple. A one-hour cyclo tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter allows you to catch a glimpse of ancient Hanoi and learn about traditional Vietnamese architecture. The tour includes a stop at an ancient Vietnamese “long house” before returning to your hotel.
Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B/L/D)
Transfer to airport for Seaplane to Halong bay (including 15-min scenic flight). On arrival, check in to your private junk at Hon Gai Harbour. Enjoy lunch while cruising to magnificent Bai Tu Long Bay; admiring the fascinating formations on the way. Explore the well- hidden Thien Canh Son Cave and relax on the white sandy beach at Hon Co Island with options to go swimming or kayaking. Return to your junk to freshen up before having dinner on board. Relax, enjoy the fresh air & overnight on board.
Accommodation: One night in private Junk – L’Amor.
Day 4: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi – Danang – Hoi An (B/L)
Wake to the morning view of Halong Bay’s landscape with a cup of tea or coffee and breakfast in the fresh air. Visit Vung Vieng fishing village by a rustic row-boat, meet the local people and pass through the floating school and fish farms. Check out of the cabin and start cruising towards the harbour while an A la carte lunch is served. After disembarking take seaplane back to Hanoi and take flight to Danang. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in Hoi An.
Accommodation: 4 nights at the Four Season - The Nam Hai in a one bedroom Pool Villa. Private Butler Service available.
Day 5: Hoi An (B)
Set off on a walking tour to explore this World Heritage Site. Highlights include an ancient merchant house, the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the vibrant riverside market. In the afternoon, visit one of Hoi An’s famous lantern workshops and learn how to make one yourself. End the day by taking a peaceful boat trip on the Thu Bon and afterwards enjoy free time to further explore the old town.
Day 6: Hoi An (B/L)
This morning, experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of Hoi An market on a personally-guided tour with the chef of Red Bridge Restaurant. Interact with the stall holders and purchase fresh ingredients for the day’s meals. After the market tour, take a boat cruise along the Hoi An River to the Red Bridge Cooking School. Learn about Vietnamese herbs and spices, local ingredients, and the art of food decoration. The chef will demonstrate how to prepare some of Vietnam’s most delicious dishes. Guests then have a chance to create their own meals under the chef’s guidance. Enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal of Vietnamese and Hoi An specialties. Afternoon is at leisure to stroll through this interesting town or spend some on the beach.
Day 7: Hoi An (B)

Day 8: Danang – Ho Chi Minh City (B)
In the morning you will be transferred to airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Rest of the day is at your leisure

Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels (B)
In the morning, visit the amazing Cu Chi Tunnels where Vietnamese guerrillas built a labyrinth of narrow tunnels as hideouts during the war. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon for a half-day city tour. Highlights include the Reunification Palace (photo stop), the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, Chinatown, the Ben Thanh Market and either the Thien Hau Temple or the Quan Am Pagoda.
Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City – Cruise – Cai Be (B/L/D)
Transfer to My Tho port for cruise. Embark on the RV Jayavarman Cruise in time for lunch. Sail across the vast Mekong Delta, relaxing on the balcony as you cruise towards Cai Be, a charming small town, famous for its Catholic French church and manufacturing of traditional crafts and food products.
Accommodation: Seven nights onboard the RV Jayavarman in a Superior Cabin.
Day 11: Cai Be – Sa Dec – Tan Chau (B/L/D)
Start your day with a Tai Chi class before a morning tour takes you to Cai Be. Cai Be still hosts a small floating market for boat to boat trading of local goods such as fruits and agricultural products. Back on board lunch is served and you have some time for yourself to enjoy a true Vietnamese coffee at the bar or simply watch the life on the riverbanks floating by. In the afternoon, we reach the area of Sa Dec. We embark a traditional sampan and tour towards Binh Thanh Island. This island is one of the larger ones in the vast stream of the Mekong and we take some time to wonder through the village and see how the locals live. Return onboard and cruise to Tan Chau.
Day 12: Tan Chau – Phnom Penh (B/L/D)
Excursion around Tan Chau, a pleasant, slow-paced town near the Cambodian border with a sizeable Chinese, Kinh and Khmer community. Once arrived on-shore we hop on “xelois” to explore Tan Chau. Back on board sail towards the Vietnamese-Cambodian border and enjoy a leisurely cruise through the deep Cambodia countryside towards Phnom Penh. Spend the afternoon relaxing onboard with a spa treatment, cooking lesson or a trip to the captains bridge.
Day 13: Phnom Penh (B/L/D)
Optional morning excursion (by coach) to the Killing Fields and the Khmer Rouge's grim Tuol Sleng or S21 detention centre or spend some time exploring the city on your own before lunch at a local restaurant. Our tour of Phnom Penh focuses on the fascinating cultural heritage of Phnom Penh. The golden edifice of the Royal Palace with its Silver Pagoda and the exceptional Khmer crafts at the National Museum are the afternoon highlights. The day trip ends with a “cyclo” ride back to the ship through the bustling streets of downtown Phnom Penh before returning to the boat some free time before BBQ dinner and entertainment.
Day 14: Phnom Penh – Kampong Cham (B/L/D)
Cruise this morning to The Angkor Ban village, famous for its unspoiled community and beautiful, traditional houses. After a visit and lunch back on board, cruise further up the Mekong to visit a local school to understand more about the education of the young Cambodian generation. We continue the travel by road to the enchanting pre-Angkorian temple of Wat Hanchey (7th century). This small complex sits on a hill top right on the shore with breath-taking views on the Mekong.
Day 15: Kampong Cham – Kampong Chhang (B/L/D)
This morning we stop at the Island of Koh Oknha Tey. This spot in the middle of the Mekong owns its fame for the manufacturing of high class silk products. By tuk tuk we explore the island with its workshops and learn how silk is processed from its source, provided by little silkworms, to a final top quality product made of original Cambodian silk. After lunch continue to Kampong Chhang before anchoring for the evening.
Day 16: Kampong Chhang –Tonle Lake (B/L/D)
Enjoy the views on Kampong Chhang where everything is on sticks balanced on water rich soil. This is the most fascinating cruise part of Cambodia. We take a local boat to the shore. With mini buses we head to a rural village nearby and go on a walking tour. Before returning to the boat we explore the local floating villages and wetlands of the region. Back on board
lunch is served as your floating sanctuary cruises gently along the narrow and meandering Tonle, towards the Great Tonle Lake. The river opens up to a vast “sea” - known as the biggest fresh water lake in Asia. In the afternoon enjoy high tea as the sun sets. Enjoy your farewell dinner and entertainment The boat moors near Siem Reap for the night.
Day 17: Cruise – Siem Reap (B)
Early morning disembark and take a coach transfer to Siem Reap. Refreshments will be provided and we will stop at Kampong Thom along the way. Arrive at Siem Reap mid-afternoon and transfer to your hotel.
Accommodation: Three nights at the Belmond La Residence D’Angkor in a Deluxe Pool Side Suite.
Day 18: Siem Reap - Angkor Complex (B)
Enter Angkor Thom via the Southern Gate and explore the ancient city, then proceed to visit the ruins at Bayon, Baphoun, Phimeanakas, the Royal Palace, the Elephant Terrace and the
Leper King Terrace. In the afternoon, visit the magnificent Angkor Wat where its extraordinary architecture offers an opportunity to experience a spectacular sunset over the monuments. Return to your hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 19: Siem Reap – Banteay Srei – Banteay Samre – Ta Prohm – Local Monastery (B)
Visit the graceful 11th century Temple of Shiva – Banteay Srei – and the Banteay Samre Temple. On the way back, swing by the Ta Prohm Temple which is mystically enveloped in the jungle. In the afternoon, we drive to a local monastery and meet the resident monks and participate in a private good luck blessing ceremony and wishing you good health and a safe journey, performed by local monks. Sit on the mat while the monks chant blessings and sprinkle holy water on you – a traditional way which is believed pass on the good luck of the
gods. Afterwards, a sacred thread will be tied around your wrist. This will protect you from any evil spirits or accidents – a memorable experience! Return to your hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 20: Siem Reap – Departure (B)
Free until transfer to the airport for departure flight.
